Our first attempt at a non-alcoholic Sparkling White under the BWC label, perfect for those looking for an alternative to sparkling wine. Whether you are on a health kick, pregnant, or just looking for something different to drink. This is the perfect choice to keep in the fridge! Our kids love it, too...
This non-alc Sparkling White is made out of 50 year old Semillon from Vine Vale in the heart of the Barossa Valley. We also used some 50 year old, dry grown Riesling from Greenock, which our loyal customers helped us hand pick on the 19th of February.
The grapes were then pressed and the juice was chilled, settled and filtered. At this stage it is known as Verjus (early picked grape juice). I then added Adelaide Hills Spring Water to help balance the sugar level in the verjus, Murray river salt to help build mid palate weight and bridge the gap between the sugar and acid in the verjus. I also added Chamomile to give some tannin and it also adds a nice savoury edge to the nose and palate.
The Grape Mules who helped pick the Riesling on the 19/2/22 were- Sarah & Mark, Marcin, Richard & Cèline, Lisa & Dylan, Ewen.
Smells like grapes funnily enough! You get a whiff of the chamomile and then some green apple, kiwi fruit and pear characters. On the palate there is some natural sweetness from the verjus, but some great natural acidity also. Definite green apple vibes and that bubble in the glass is a lot of fun. Definitely a celebration drink!
It is delicious on its own, or you can add some white spirits and make a cocktail mixer if you can't stand the idea of having no alcohol ;)
We hope you enjoy!
