“HououBiden” is headquartered in Nikko, Tochigi and the brewery is located on Nikko Reiheishi Street.
It has been brewing sake for 150years, since the 5th year of Meiji era (1872) with benefits of ground water from Nikko mountains and majestic and serene nature.
HououBiden is bright and high-quality sake with a characteristic of fresh and fruity ginjo aroma. We value the connection with sake rice producing regions and rice farmers from throughout Japan including Tochigi prefecture and would like to highlight the differences of each sake rice, personality and richness of the lands.
Sake rice used to brew “HououBiden” is grown in Tochigi prefecture, using rice from locations famous throughout Japan for sake rice. We have direct contracts with sake rice production regions. This rice results in colorful and rich sake.
HououBiden’s sake is brewed in a serene and plentiful environment with infiltrated water from Nikko’s mountains. Water is the heart of the brewing process and reflects the characteristic of the land and nature and deepens the flavor
We believe sake significantly reflects creator’s nature. We believe it is important to polish nature’s sensibilities, to have honesty and health in mind in addition to knowledge and skills.
