Fanny Finch was the first known woman in Australia to vote, in 1856 in a municipal election in Castlemaine, Victoria, 52 years before suffrage in Australia. She was a remarkable woman, a woman of African heritage, single mother and successful businesswoman in a world overwhelmingly dominated by white men. This wine is named after her for no other reason than to celebrate her remarkable strength, courage and tenacity.

35 year old Sauvignon Blanc vines on the east facing slopes at the base of the Christmas Hills provide the fruit for this wine that has such depth and complexity. The wine reflects without hesitation its origins; the depth and innate complexity of the mature vines’ flavoursome fruit, and the combination of power and restraint from the exposed slopes protected from the western and northern heat by the precipitous Christmas Hills range.

The hand harvested bunches were picked directly to small open fermenters in the vineyard and allowed to undergo a 10 day whole-bunch maceration. Following pressing it was transferred directly to do French oak 300L hogsheads for the the completion of ferments and maturation till the end of Winter.
It was bottled in October 2019 without the addition of sulphur dioxide.
