The nose shows grapefruit, lemon juice, mandarin peel and peaches with cream. The wine also exhibits flinty tones and hints of popcorn and sweet marshmallow from influences of oak.
The palate shows more citrus notes of lemons and grapefruit with dough/fennel tones similar to Taralli (Italian fennel biscuits). The wine gives a generous amount of breadth and roundness across the palate with creamy notes. As the wine begins to close, it leans more into the acid and phenolics which come into the wine to give structure and a little tension to the savoury, moreish finish.
Cellar for up to 10 years from vintage.
A recommended food match is roast pork with crackling, apple sauce and
golden, fluffy, crispy potatoes with pan-cooked greens.
